In 2017, Riverside Vineyard Merlot was the first of the season to be harvested for full color red wine. Some of the bigger tannin in this wine can likely be attributed to slightly shorter hang time relative to some of the other reds. Similar to 2016, Theresa’s Vineyard Merlot was softer and very juicy and served as a perfect complement to the more assertive Riverside Merlot.
The 2017 Merlot displays aromas of fresh blueberries and sweet black plum with notes of mint leaf tea and cocoa in support. On the palate, the wine is fruit-forward and juicy followed by lovely richness and a touch of tannin in the finish. This wine begs you take another sip and savor!
